“I want to thank the Career Services Department, and all of my teachers at Lincoln College for all of the encouragement and support. I was 42-years-old when I decided to go back to school and it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. A lot of people have asked if I regret going back to school now that we are in a recession, but I tell them that one day this recession will be over and I will always have an education to fall back on, so I don’t regret it at all. When I first started my education my son was getting ready to go to the war in Iraq. He was so excited for me and knew that this would help me keep my mind off of what he was going through. I am the first person in my family to get a college degree and it has encouraged my children to go to college. My son returned safely and is now 24 and is attending a college. I am now continuing my education with a course in Medical Transcription, as my second child has to go to Iraq. “I enrolled in the online Medical Office Management Program in April of 2008. At first it took a little getting used to the structure as it was new to me. I still can’t believe how fast it goes. The first two semesters I was enrolled full-time with three classes. It does get to be difficult working full-time with classes full-time but the instructors were very patient and willing to help out if I had any issues I just wanted to say thank you to a particular instructor who I have had the pleasure of working with. That instructor is Kelly Williams. Kelly has been my instructor for both of my Accounting courses and has been truly helpful with the information that we had to learn… She has gone above and beyond as well to help me with another course that I was having difficulty with… I am just really glad that I was able to meet someone who cares so much about students”
